AKIISOFT

Their megahit Katana Zero was their breakthrough title displaying stylized violence, 80s fetishism, and familiar tics. This well-known developer has lived to work, and his hard work has paid off. His next acclaimed flash game, called Tower of Heaven, in 2009 won accolades.

Eric Barone

The story surrounding Stardew Valley, which is Eric Barone’s indie phenomenon, is just too compelling. He labored daily for over four years and handled all the aspects of the game solo, including music, programming, animation, etc.

Blendo Games

He is a well know indie developer who earlier was hired by Pandemic Studios but left the company after the takeover by powerhouse electronic arts. His famous titles include Atom Zombie Smasher, Flotilla, and Quadrilateral Cowboy.

Cardboard Computer

Their Kentucky Route Zero is a point-and-click adventure based in the Gothic atmosphere and the other world. They also started the series called School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Scott Cawthon

The cute but horrifying Rock-afire Explosion was much loved, and it is one of the noted works of Cawthon. He spun fun new games like Five Nights at Freddy’s and other games galore and book adaptations.

Gabe Cuzillo

Their breakout game Hotline Miami and Ape Out are pretty bold, and the color design is a contrast which is a clever step. It has a sanguinary stylization.

Doinksoft

This is one indie studio to watch out for. Released by published Devolver Digital, Gato Roboto and Devolver Bootleg is nothing less than revolutionary, carrying forward the indie spirit.

Drool

The developers are the veterans of Harmonix. Their rhythm action Rock Band and Guitar hero were their acclaimed works. Despite a simple concept, they delightfully overwhelm you with the beauty of the game.

Ben Esposito

Level design and prototyping are some of the achievements of this solo developer. His favorite work includes Donut County, while he has also co-developed a few other games with Rachel Sala.

Extremely OK game

They enjoy creating the old school formats. Their most beloved game has to be Towerfall. Later on, the studio was rebranded from Matt Thorson’s Matt Makes Games studio to Extremely OK games.
